found a little bit of time in between sewing + running to the post office to squeeze a couple or garments for the challenge in. it is not even finished but i just wanted to give u guys a taste. ;)
DAY 4: denice tee

it is a very basic tee…

except…

it has a back cutout. yummy.
i must admit, it was hard leaving this tee simple..but the denise tee is a great tee to have cuz it is so basic, you can dress up, down, + accessorize how you wish. here is how i chose to style it:

top: nakIMuli
skirt: naKIMuli
shoes: jeffrey campbell
scarf: naKIMuli
chain: naKIMuli
arm sleeves: naKIMuli
belt: thrift
brooch: thrift (vintage)
jewelry: thrift (vintage) and gifts
omg! my whole outfit is made by me! lol didn’t even notice that…
i made the denim arm sleeves back in 2003 + just happened to look in my closet just now + thought, maybe i should upt them on…

with that being said, who would have thought that as soon as i said i am going to do a 30 day challenge, that i would get swamped with orders! been tryna figure out what the universe is tryna tell me…think i know. but i am working on cute pieces in between my orders. can’t wait to debut them. though i am behind on the 30 day challenge, i refuse to give up! so it may take me longer that 30 days but i am commited to doing it. but i do want to thank the creator again for supporting my dream. and to u, my customers/readers/fans. thank u for all the luv!
luv begets luv!
end.
i owe u guys A LOT of days. lol but i promise i will catch up this week. it’s just that as soon as i announced this challenge, i have been getting a lot of orders. but i am very grateful to the universe for it. and for you guys for supporting me. but anyway, here is the next garment.
DAY 3: huggable sling tunic

this top is kinda old. well…not that old. i started it around the beginning of the summer but i never finished it until this past week. it is a very casual top that goes well with leggings. and as u can see, it keeps up with the draping theme.

side + back views

u can even where the belt in the front as well.
wow! the day just flew by! guess cuz i was all emotional about my granma’s passing… but it was still a productive day. but tomorrow will be even better! been super motivated to get things done, which is always good. i will be posting garments 3 + 4 tomorrow…
was yesterday. argh!!!
sorry folks for not posting anything. it has been crazy over here with orders, meeting with clients, and running errands. and i usually like to take the pics in the a.m. while the sun is out but that may not always work out. i see this 30 day challenge is really gonna be a challenge! but i digress…
DAY 2: cut throat cocoon

i was actually gonna make a regular cocoon jacket but, as always, the universe steps in + takes me on another journey, which is always fine with me! it’s a little different becuz there are drape slits that make it perfect to wear a cute belt with.
i was telling uncle jimmy about the cocoon over the phone. he suggested that i call it “cut throat cocoon.” :)

wear with or without a belt.

would luv to hear feedback…
soooo….
i have decided to challenge myself a little. for the next 30 days i am gonna make at least 1 new garment for my new clothing label, shanae. i’m calling it:
the 30 DAY CREATE SHANAE CHALLENGE. (that rhymes! lol)
so i started today. and i will go until november 12th. (disclaimer: that is actually 31 days, but tomorrow i will be out all day visiting one of my bffs; she was in a car accident. but no worries, she is ok even though her car is totalled.) it is gonna be quite challenging cuz i have to fit into a busy schedule of fulfilling orders, styling clients, going to the gym, dance rehearsals, the list goes on. but i am DETERMINED to do this.
DAY 1: twisted pencil skirt
had a dream about this skirt on saturday nite. and when i usually have dreams about designs, i try to hurry up + make them before the inspiration dies.

you can even turn the drape to the side…

feel free to let me know what u think…
