NOBILITY

melodysblog:

I think its so important for people to see the nobility in what they do. I remember working towards law school, and loving art, but always feeling like it was more suitable as a hobby. I thought that in order to have an impact on the world and make money, I had to go into a field that was credible and more “noble”.  I thought fashion was so superficial and meaningless, but what I was really saying was what my passion was, was superficial and meaningless.

In order for me to really see myself, I had to see the nobility in who I was, what my gifts were and understand the importance of the fashion/design industry and its role in the world.  Based on the little experience that I have had, I can truly say that what you “do” is just a vehicle. You are in no position to judge or rank yourself and what you do in comparison to anyone else.  Find what you absolutely love to do and that love can take you places you never thought possible.

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.

Funny that I came across this on Facebook. I was just thinking today that I want to start a mentoring program for creative business owners.
